Fire Watch Security Patrol – Temporary
We are looking for personnel in the industry to fill the roles of fire watch duties, working 8-hour shifts. Overtime available depending on staffing needs.
Code 4 is currently working with several organizations on upcoming projects to replace fire alarm and sprinkler systems. These projects may take anywhere from 3-9 months from system design, to final acceptance testing with the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction).
These projects will be under contract, so the work is guaranteed until the project is completed. Further details will be provided once your application is completed and accepted.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Watch out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees.
● Maintain the conditions and requirements stated on the safety permit.
● Keep flammable materials from ignition sources.
● Conduct periodic patrols of the locations.
● Identify any fire, life safety, or property hazards and report them by calling 911.
● Conduct evacuation, and be familiar with evacuation exits.
● Maintain a log of fire watch activities, and report any incidents.
● Should have knowledge on how to operate a fire extinguisher.
● Maintain daily fire log activities every 30 to 60 mins.
● Stop operations if you find any hazardous condition.
● Maintain constant means of communication.
● As much as possible, keep visual and voice contact with other employees.
● Before and during each shift, inspect the entire work area and look for potential release of flammable vapors or liquids.
● In the event of fire, call 911 immediately.
● Make sure you and other employees are aware of the exact location of fire fighting equipment in the immediate area.
Environment:
Indoor and outdoor. Stairs required.

● Night (Preferred)
Requirements:
● Have a High School Diploma or GED.
● Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State.
● Must have a valid driver’s license as required by the State.
● Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States.
● Must have access to reliable transportation.
● Must dress appropriately, have good conduct and be professional.
● Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results.
● Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references and employment verification.
● Must report arrival and relief to supervisor.
● Must have a smartphone.
● Must call 911 in case of fire.
● Must keep the fire log on-site.
● Must never leave the location until next relief.
● Must submit daily fire watch logs to supervisor.
● Have the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
● Be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
● Be able to think quickly and critically.
● Be mindful of customer and public service.
● Exercise good judgment in potentially dangerous situations.
● Have knowledge of public safety and security.
● Possess knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern the security field.
● Work well independently and with others.
